My Bella
In February of 2022, my lady handed me a pregnancy test that read positive. I was in disbelief. To be more honest, I was more distrusting that she was pregnant. I did not believe that I would ever have my own child to call my own. Life always seems to find a way of snapping back at me in some form or fashion, and this seemed to be the same old song and dance. After a few more confirmation tests and an ultrasound, I accepted the fact of parenthood with pure joy and happiness. I was going to be a Father.
After finding out this information, I decided to start investing a bit here and there within the Stock Market in order to build my own wealth. I truly believed in the stock market and the ability to gain financial freedom... but as always in life, there is a catch. In order to see true growth in a short amount of time, you have to already have wealth. If not, you will be grinding away at the same stock market plan for the next couple decades. But, I still went forward with my plan.
I made a few moves and gained about 20% net profit, off a very small investment, and decided to sell pretty early on. Wealth begets wealth, right? So I took the money I gained in the stock market, and decided to pay off some of my debt. By doing this, I managed to increase my credit score up to the high 600's. Not bad, but not great, in any financial institution's eyes. Making this move shows that I am responsible to any future lenders, but it doesn't necessarily increase my wealth. My liabilities decrease, but my assets (cash), also decrease. So how am I supposed to be where I want to be, in a short amount of time? The answer was yet to come.
By Late September of 2022, I was in good financial standing. Paid off nearly $10,000 of credit card debt, increased my credit score low/mid 700's, but still had no true gain in wealth. And if you are reading this, you know that in 2022, we saw inflation skyrocket, gas prices nearly double, and the Fed increased the interest rate to 5%. It has been a rough year and it doesn't look like it will let up for quite some time. So, as we all do, I thought about my future. Only this time, I had another factor involved:
October 3, 2022, at 01:32AM, my daughter was born. She was and still is the most beautiful creature on this planet (Sorry, My Lady). And when I held her for the first time, I realized that my true job/career in life is to be a stay at home father. I never want to miss another day with my daughter and my lady. Nothing in the world is more important than raising that bundle of sweetness and being present for every moment possible. But how do I make that happen??
And so, I finally made the decision that I had been floating around for the last 5 years or so: I started a business. Seamless Wealth LLC. My own company that is licensed and ready to venture out and start making a living on my own terms. Creating this business doesn't necessarily mean that I will be rich beyond my wildest dreams, but, it does give me a foothold in the journey that is yet to come: I took the first step. As most of us know, the first step is always the hardest, and now that I have that out of the way, it will just take some effort, long nights, and a bit of trust within myself.
This is the first post on my blog, which essentially breaks down the how I got to this decision, so I invite you to stay tuned and tag along for the journey to financial freedom.
